Kiddos

You know I have often heard…”If I knew that grandkids were this much fun, I would have skipped having kids and gone right to the grands.” There is something so special when you look into the face of your grandkids, something that melts your heart and give you such hope for the future.

Emily Elizabeth Jackson will be 7 in January 2012 and she keeps all us amazed! The latest is her concern for the Japanese people that are not Christians, she was worried about how to teach them when she doesn’t speak Japanese and they don’t speak English. I found a wonderful Bible story book that had both languages on the same page and wonderful illustrations, she told me this morning she had shared the book with one of her Japanese neighbors. I pray everyday that she will continue with her love and concern for others.

Logan Raines Jackson turned five in August 2011. He is a man of few words, his main concerns are for Kenai, our dog and Granddad’s tractor. He has a love and fascination with digging the biggest and deepest dirt holes that he can. The other day Callie, his mom asked him what fruit he wanted… his reply….”Love”. He thought she meant one of the fruits of the spirit spoken of in Galatians. Jesus knew what he was talking about when he said for the children to be brought to him.

Japan is a long way off but with phones, email and skype we stay connected. We love our kiddos!

We had more fun before the game.

This video is 6 minutes long, but Grammy just couldn’t help but post it …..

The kiddos each had the opportunity to earn badges for things they accomplished while on their visit to GrandDaddy & Grammy’s house.

The badges were pictures of the things that they were to do…. pick flowers, spot a butterfly, fish in the pond, gather eggs, plant a plant, dig in the dirt, help GrandDad with his project, go to church, say one of the prayers, do a kind deed, pick strawberries, ride the John Deere tractor. We had a blast….CELEBRATE the GOOD TIMES!

Don’t shoot the videographer!

Okay, do not report us. We had a very long talk about farm safety and taking risk. She is NOT scared of anything. The John Deere recovered nicely and Logan took over for a much calmer ride.
Can you see her at the mud bogging event or the tractor pull? I wonder if they race John Deere’s somewhere, I will have to check that out.

This was the highlight of the morning. The “inapproprate item” was “Scooby Doo”! I did not give it to Logan. I love it!

This has become at tradition at SunnySide Farm. We had a blast!
